Wally

Likely around five years old, this Jack Russell Terrier maintains the spark of youth while already having plenty of experience learning his house training, crate training, and manners. Perfect for those dog lovers not so keen on dealing with the shenanigans of those early dog years!

Wally is a huge fan of his daily walks and relishes the opportunity to search for the best sniff spots in the neighbourhood. Despite this adventurous spirit, Wally does show some fear and trepidation in new situations or simply when feeling unsure. A gentle and patient hand is needed to guide Wally as he rediscovers his confidence.

Though quite playful, Wally can be selective about other dogs. He doesn’t love his personal space being invaded, particularly by the exhuberant puppy he has been staying with. Peaceful coexistence with the occasional game of chase with other respectful dogs seems to be Wally’s preference so far. With humans however, Wally is at his happiest. He can be overwhelmed by small children but other than that, Wally is prepared to love everyone he meets. His safe space is cozied up as closely as he can be to his person and is perpetually at the ready to melt into some good head rubs or neck scritches. He is a special little dude absolutely full of love looking for his special forever.

Update - Nov 13

As Wally gets more comfortable in his foster home, he has started making friends.

Now showing some interest in playing with the other dogs in his foster home, Wally has begun to use that signature Jack Russell Terrier athleticism to race them around the yard. At five years young, he has plenty of speed and jumping prowess to show them all how champions play chase. He is still learning the ropes of living with multiple other dogs but is starting to enjoy the canine company. His newfound love of playtime and his passion for walks never seem to stand in the way of Wally being a snacks and snuggles kind of guy though.

Wally is a great lover of food. He has been taste-testing some dog-safe fruits and vegetables and has yet to come across a snack that didn’t meet his standards. Even though his personality would suggest that he would risk it for a biscuit (perhaps even let the world fall for a single meatball) Wally has been doing impressively well with his manners. He has been the perfect gentleman as he waits politely for his turn at snack time. This cutie has a side of sass but is sweetness to his core.

He may be starting to enjoy his new dog friends but, deep down, Wally just wants to be with his humans. This friendly boy is forever ready to love the new people he meets. He can be quite overstimulated by small children but has approved of every adult he has met so far. For Wally, almost everyone’s lap is the perfect lap for a nap. Now he just needs one to call his very own.
