Izzy
After returning to Windy City through no fault of her own, our favourite jowly jewel, Izzy, got to enjoy some well-deserved spoiling for Christmas. As much as Izzy loved her gifts from Santa, the gift we most wish for her is a furever home.
Like many dogs, Izzy can sometimes be a little selective with other dogs but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t love a home with a playmate. Another dog in the house would allow her to show off her playful side as well as her undying loyalty. She absolutely loves her furry foster sister and has gained a lot of confidence by following the lead of her beloved bestie.
After some work with her foster mom, Izzy has shown that she is capable of being a perfect lady on walks. With her impeccable house-manners already well-established, this sweet squishy-faced princess would make a wonderful addition to many kinds of home. She has even shown a lot of promise with how much she has improved when it comes to cats.
This darling girl is so full of love and joy, we just want to give her the opportunity to show her future family what a gift she truly is.

Update June 6: Izzy, the stunning St. Bernard, would like everyone to know that she is still adorable and still available. While she waits for her furever family to find her, Izzy has been soaking up Spring by frolicking and rolling in the grass, taste-testing treats, being an excellent supervisor for some backyard landscaping work, and proving herself to be a divine hostess for her foster family’s houseguests.
Izzy’s foster parents and trainer have done, and continue to do, amazing work building up her confidence. Her occasional distrust of certain people and dogs can mean she takes a bit longer to warm up to some than others. Once Izzy falls in love though, she falls hard. She is a devoted Bestie for her foster family’s resident dog and is just the right amount of cuddly to make anyone adore her. No one could ask for a more faithful and loyal companion.
Optimally, Izzy’s perfect human would be a confident leader who can ensure she faces some of her big feelings with self-assurance and security. Izzy is capable of being a perfect lady on walks but needs an experienced handler to help her maintain her confidence and composure in trying situations.
